City of London Remembrance Events 2022

On Thursday 3rd November, more than 2,000 Armed Forces personnel, veterans and Royal British Legion representatives launched the London Poppy Appeal, which raised more than £1m in just one day. Military bands will entertain commuters and visitors to Liverpool Street Station

On Monday 7th November, members of the City of London’s Livery Companies placed 140 crosses to commemorate their lost comrades in a special service of remembrance outside of St. Paul’s Cathedral in the Livery Garden of Remembrance. The Lord Mayor of the City of London also laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the people of the City of London, as did the Member of Parliament for the Cities of London.

On Friday 11th November at 10.45am, a short Service of Remembrance will take place on the upper concourse of Liverpool Street Station next to McDonalds, led by Fr. David Armstrong, Rector at St. Botolph Without Bishopsgate.

On Sunday 13th November at 10.15am, a Service of Remembrance with The Commemoration of the Fallen will take place at St. Paul’s Cathedral. A special service to remember those who have lived and died in defence of justice and freedom in the service of humankind. This is open to the public and no entrance fee is charged. Following the Service, a wreath laying ceremony will take place at the Royal Exchange on Cornhill.
