The City of London Corporation has been working with the City’s Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and Central London Alliance (CIC) to collaboratively leverage this summer’s global sports events, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Over the summer, City BIDs and CIC will deliver sporting installations and activities (beach volleyball court, pickleball court, table tennis, crazy golf) – as well as a number of big screens showing major sporting events, to attract both City workers and visitors.
In an unlikely turn of events (!), Bishopsgate Councillors became ‘have a go heroes’ at the London Sports Festival, which launched today in the iconic Guildhall Yard.

The summer-long initiative is a great example of the City’s Sport Strategy in action – transforming streets and urban spaces into places where residents, workers, and visitors can come together, stay active, and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of sport.
