It is with pleasure I can confirm the garden is open again – and is now greener than ever!
The City of London Corporation has transformed this hidden gem on Houndsditch with:
🌳 12 new trees and planting for pollinators
🦋 Natural habitats for wildlife
💧 Sustainable drainage to manage rainwater
🪑 Better access and 35 seats
These upgrades are part of our ongoing commitment to making the City’s green spaces more sustainable and climate resilient.
Small parks like Jubilee Gardens play a big role in our Climate Action Strategy – boosting biodiversity, capturing carbon, and helping to cool the city.
We’re proud to provide over 180 public gardens, plazas, and churchyards across the Square Mile.
So, whether you’re meeting friends, taking a breather, or simply enjoying nature, come and enjoy this revitalised green space…
John Edwards, Chairman of the City Corporation’s Streets and Walkways Sub Committee, said: “At the heart of this transformation is a shared vision: to create a greener, more resilient Square Mile. A place where biodiversity flourishes, where people can pause and connect, and where the built environment works in harmony with nature.
“We have also been able to re-use materials from the old space, including paving and sections of wall, which fulfils our circular economy ambitions.”
The Jubilee Gardens, located in Houndsditch, is fully accessible to the public and open 7 days a week 7am-7pm or dusk (depending which one comes first).
