Congratulations to the Class of 2026 – a brilliant cohort of students from eight sixth forms in Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Newham and Southwark. Incredibly, half of all A level grades awarded to our sixth form students were A*/A, compared with just 28% nationally.
In Hackney, Elsa at The City Academy, Hackney achieved straight A* and A grades at the same time as being crowned European Junior BMX Champion and World Junior silver medalist.
In Islington, Jayden at Islington Collegiate Sixth Form secured A*A*A*A* and is now going to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge.
In Lambeth, at London Nautical, City of London Academy, Tomas was awarded A*A*A and is now going to study Aerospace Engineering at Sheffield University.
In Newham, at NCS, Tahrim’s straight A grades secured her place at Imperial to study Medicine.
In Southwark, Jack at City of London Academy Southwark achieved A*A*A and successfully obtained his place at Oxford to study Mathematics.
My congratulations to all the students, teachers, parents and governors for their hard work and dedication. Once again, the City of London Academies Trust has proven that even in some of London’s most economically deprived communities, social factors do not have to determine education outcomes and social mobility.
