Trial Operations: Significant progress was made over Christmas on the commissioning of upgrades to the Elizabeth Line signalling, train software, control communications system and the tunnel ventilation system. With these successful upgrades, the next phase of Trial Operations will start soon.
The next phase builds on the trials completed to date and involves a number of organisations, including Transport for London, London Underground, MTR Corporation (Crossrail) Limited and Network Rail collaborating on the response to trial scenarios.
These scenarios may also include emergency services – the British Transport Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service. As we carry out exercises there will be times when you will see emergency vehicles and staff around our stations taking part. These trials are vital to ensuring our people and processes can not only respond to situations that may arise but recover the service and get London moving as quickly as possible.
