Liverpool Street: no place for drugs

Congratulations to the City of London Police who have been joined by Metropolitan Police task force dog, Bella, and British Transport Police dog, Polly, to conduct stop and searches today at Liverpool Street Station in my ward of Bishopsgate.

17 individuals were found to be carrying drugs, which were recovered and destroyed.

We want to send a very clear message to everyone that the City is not a place for you to visit to take recreational drugs. Far too often we see on London’s streets the reality of drug addition and how it destroys lives. As a responsible society, we have to break that cycle.

My thanks to the Officers who continue to press this issue across county lines.
